Sorting Your Budget From The Moment You Start Working

Budgeting your money will help you to know just what you can afford and what you can’t which helps relieve stress. It makes no difference whether you are earning a lot of money or just a small amount you still need to know where your money is going.

Getting your first job whilst remaining in the family home requires very little in the way of a budget so make your life easy by starting now.
Here are five essential elements to any good budget.

• Money for food and lodgings, you should always give a part of your income towards the cost of your food and the utilities such as electric, gas and water. Generally speaking parents are not going to ask for a lot but you should at least be giving something as this will teach you the principle of budgeting.
• What are you spending on going out or playing football, as a young person this will be the next important part of your budget?
• The next important item for your budget is how much you spend on clothing.
• When you are young you want to experience all you can so be sure to include something in your budget for holidays and trips.
• Finally make sure your budget includes a proportion towards savings as although you may feel you don’t need then now you certainly will when you get older and the quicker you start to save the more you’ll have when you need them. A minimum of 15% should be put towards savings of some kind.
